  2. How To Register:   ISAM 1.03
  3. ================

  5. Print out the Registration file, using a non-proportional font (so that the
  6. columns line up correctly).  Fill in the registration form using the following
  7. guidelines:

  10. Registration Fee:
  11. -----------------
  12.  
  13.    The registration fee is US$ 25.00 for new registrations.
  14.  
  15. [Check for the file ISAM.Sale.  If it exists, and if it is before the cutoff
  16. date, use the price(s) quoted there, instead.  Use the reduced price in fig-
  17. uring Quantity Discount, below.]
  18.  
  19. You must remit a fee for each computer on which the software will be installed.
  20. In addition, developers creating software that requires the server
  21. have additional responsibilites.  Write RedShift Software for details.
  22.     
  23.    Additional copies of the server alone are US$ 8.00 each.
  24. (You will then have the right to make ONE copy of the libraries (for install-
  25. ation on ONE additonal computer) for EACH additional copy you purchase).
  26.  
  27.    Time payments of up to three (3) months are acceptable.  If paying over two
  28. (2) months, each payment is 1/2 of the total (software + shipping/handling +
  29. tax); if paying over three (3) months, each payment is 1/3 of the total.

  31.    All fees must be remitted in US currency, personal checks that are drawn
  32. on a US bank, or international or Postal money order or cashier's check in US
  33. currency drawn on a US bank.  No credit card orders can be accepted at this
  34. time.
  35. Sending cash is discouraged.  We will accept it, but PLEASE make sure it is
  36. WELL HIDDEN (wrapped inside something opaque), so it is not obvious that
  37. there is money inside.  By the same reasoning, do NOT send coins.  If sending
  38. cash, round DOWN to the NEXT LOWER dollar amount.
  39. RedShift Software does NOT accept responsibility for lost/stolen cash.

  42. Discounts:
  43. ----------
  44.    Quantity discounts are available.  For each product (ISAM, extra ISAM 
  45. server & libraries), the discount off the above listed price is as follows:

  60. Note that the quantity is caclulated separately for each product: if
  61. purchasing 6 ISAM and 7 additional ISAM servers, the discount is 15% on each
  62. (quantity :6, quantity: 7), not 20% on their total (quantity: 13).

  64. Ex.  John Smith is purchasing two copies of ISAM.  At the time he purchases it,
  65.      it is not on sale.  He would then write "2" for quantity ("Qty."), "25.00"
  66.      for the unit price ("Each"), and "50.00" for the expanded price ("Total").
  67.      He sees that there is a discount of 15% (for 2-10 copies).
  68.      The discount calculation is:  quantity x fullprice x (percent / 100)
  69.                                        2    x   25.00   x      .15
  70.      He would then fill in the Discount to look like:  "Discount  (- 7.50 )".
  71.      If he were purchasing extra copies of just the server/libraries, he
  72.      would calculate their discount in the same manner.  He isn't, though.

  74.      The "SOFTWARE TOTAL" would then be: 50.00 - 7.50, or 42.50.

  76. Multiple Orders:
  77. ----------------

  79.    Multiple copies of the same product will be sent as one disk, where
  80. possible.  You will then install the different servers (and copy the resident
  81. libraries) on the registered number of computers.  No other files (include
  82. files, source, examples, and documentation) may be copied unless the full
  83. package is multiply purchased.  Purchasers of extra copies of the server/
  84. libraries may only copy the libraries (and only to as many computers as
  85. extra copies of the server/libraries were purchased.

  88. Shipping/Handling charge(s):
  89. ----------------------------

  91. The Handling Charge, which applies to ALL orders, is US$ 2.00.
  92.  
  93. Shipping for US/Canadian/Mexican Orders (which will be sent US First Class
  94. Mail) is FREE.
  95.  
  96. The Shipping charge for orders to other destinations (which will be
  97. sent Airmail) will be an additional US$ 1.00.
  98.  
  99. Priority Mail is available to US customers only at an additional US$ 3.00.
  100.  
  101. ExpressMail is available at an additional:
  102.    US$ 10.00 to US destinations,
  103.    US$ 12.00 to Canada/Mexico/GreatBritain/NorthernIreland, and
  104.    US$ 14.00 elsewhere.
  105. ExpressMail is not available everywhere.  Registrations received for a location
  106. not served by this service, will be shipped by an alternate method, and the
  107. excess shipping fee refunded.

  110. Sales Tax:
  111. ----------

  113.    New York State residents must add their full local sales tax on the
  114. total of software and shipping/handling.
  115.  
  116. Ex.  John Smith lives in New York State.  His local sales tax rate is 7.25%.
  117.      He doesn't care how soon he gets his ISAM package, so he just pays the
  118.      2.00 handling fee, and nothing for the shipping.
  119.      So, his "SOFTWARE + SHIP/HAND" is  42.50 + 2.00 = 44.50.
  120.      The sales tax calculation is: "SOFTWARE + SHIP/HAND"  x (taxrate / 100)
  121.                                            44.50           x   .0725
  122.      He would then fill in the Sales Tax to look like:  "Sales Tax    3.23".
  123.      His "TOTAL" would then be: 44.50 + 3.23 = 47.73.

  125.      He decides to pay in two (2) installments, so each payment would be
  126.      47.73 / 2.  Since 47.73 is not evenly divisible by two, we round up
  127.      for the first payment, and down for the second:  47.73 / 2 = 23.865
  128.      First payment ("Amount Enclosed") = 23.87.  Second payment (a month
  129.      later): 23.86.

  132. Underpayment:
  133. -------------

  135.    Underpayment will be handled in one of the following ways, depending
  136. on what form the discrepency takes:
  137.  
  138.      1) The software will be shipped by a less expensive method.
  139.      2) You will be billed the difference.
  140.      3) The registration form and payment will be returned.

  143. Overpayment:
  144. ------------
  145.    Overpayment will be refunded.   
  146.     
  147.  
  148. Defective Disks:
  149. ----------------
  150.  
  151.    Defective Disks will be replaced at no charge.  Write/EMail us to let us
  152. know.
  153. Don't bother returning the disk.

  156. User Groups:
  157. ------------

  159.    User groups may purchase at the discount rate listed above.
  160.    The purchase must be handled through the group Treasurer, who will receive
  161. the registered master disk, and will handle duplication/distribution.  The 
  162. order must be on official user group letterhead, and a list of the purchasers'
  163. names/addresses must be supplied.
  164. You may "pre-pay" for a limited number of future purchasers (to save work,
  165. or to get a better discount), so long as when they do purchase, their names/
  166. addresses are then supplied.  When the number of pre-paid slots fill up,
  167. you must stop and place a new order.
